I've spent the last decade working on infrastructure and platform engineering problems at places like NASA, NIH, the State Department, McKinsey, Deloitte, and several Fortune 500 financial institutions. Most of my work happens when organizations hit a wall—deployments taking weeks instead of days, compliance becoming a blocker, or developers spending more time fighting infrastructure than building features.
I build developer platforms and deployment automation, mainly across AWS, GCP, and Azure. The work usually involves taking processes that take three weeks and getting them down to a few days, or modernizing legacy systems into something that actually saves money and doesn't break. I've done a fair amount of FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA compliance work, which means making security requirements work alongside developer velocity instead of against it.
I've managed engineering teams spread across different continents and time zones. My approach is pretty straightforward: build platforms that get out of people's way, automate anything we're doing more than twice, document the stuff that's actually hard, and give teams the tools to ship without needing permission for every deployment. I've mentored a number of engineers into senior and lead roles over the years.
I hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. If you're dealing with infrastructure that's slowing your team down, let's talk.

Hybrid Cloud Architecture for Global Diplomacy
constproject={name:'Hybrid Cloud Architecture for Global Diplomacy',tools: ['AWS', 'Azure', 'FedRAMP', 'SIEM', 'ServiceNow', 'Infrastructure-as-Code', 'Hub-Spoke Networking', 'Disaster Recovery', 'GDPR],myRole:Subject Matter Expert | Solution Architect,Description: I designed and deployed a hybrid cloud architecture across AWS and Azure for diplomatic posts worldwide, using a hub-spoke networking model to connect locations operating under strict bandwidth constraints. I built a security framework aligned with FedRAMP Moderate requirements and implemented centralized SIEM monitoring that cut manual remediation by 30%. I supported a cloud transformation serving 3,000+ users, reducing infrastructure delivery time from four weeks to two. I also stood up multi-region disaster recovery that brought recovery time objectives down from 12 hours to 6 for critical mission systems.,};Financial Services Data & Trading Platforms
constproject={name:'Financial Services Data & Trading Platforms',tools: ['AWS', 'GCP', 'Terraform', 'ETL Pipelines', 'Event-Driven Architecture', 'Data Lake', 'Automated Security Scanning', 'Multi-Region Deployment],myRole:Enterprise Cloud Architect,Description: I built a data warehouse on AWS for regional banks that processed 50GB of daily transaction data, cutting query performance from minutes to seconds and reducing infrastructure provisioning from three weeks to one. I also architected a transaction processing platform on GCP handling 500K daily transactions at 99.9% availability. I led a distributed platform engineering team across US and EU locations, establishing infrastructure-as-code practices and automated security scanning while maintaining an 85% deployment success rate across environments.,};Genomics Research Platform
constproject={name:'Genomics Research Platform',tools: ['AWS EC2', 'S3', 'EBS', 'Grid Engine', 'Spot Instances', 'BWA/GATK', 'REDCap', 'IAM', 'HIPAA', 'Federated Auth],myRole:Cloud Architect,Description: I built a large-scale genomics analysis platform on AWS handling over 100TB of research data, implementing BWA/GATK pipelines for DNA sequence processing. I designed the entire infrastructure to be HIPAA-compliant with role-based access controls and federated authentication for protected health information. Through optimized Grid Engine job scheduling and strategic use of Spot instances, I cut processing time from 21 days to 8 and reduced monthly compute costs by $8K. I also standardized clinical data collection using REDCap, improving data completeness rates from 80% to 95%.,};Cloud Migration & Container Platform Modernization
constproject={name:'Cloud Migration & Container Platform Modernization',tools: ['AWS', 'Terraform', 'EKS', 'GitOps', 'Transit Gateway', 'Container Security', 'FedRAMP', 'CI/CD Pipelines', 'Heroku Enterprise],myRole:Manager | Senior Cloud Architect,Description: I led the migration of manufacturing applications to AWS for an automotive client, implementing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and establishing Transit Gateway networking that improved application performance by 8% while saving roughly $400K annually. I also designed a container platform on EKS for a federal healthcare agency, implementing GitOps deployment workflows and container security scanning to meet FedRAMP Moderate requirements. The result was a 25% reduction in failed deployments and a shift from monthly to bi-weekly release cadences for non-critical systems.,};Bachelor Degree
